What Is In A Cigarette

This is a letter to James Dunworth, IT director for ECigarette Direct where professor Brad Rodu explains his opinion that the organization: Tobacco Free Kids with its extremely closed minded approach to tobacco and the way they completely ignore any harm reduction issues in favor of complete elimination of tobacco and nicotine will eventually lead to millions of unnecessary deaths.

Dear Mr. Dunworth,

I am a professor of medicine and hold an endowed chair in tobacco harm reduction research at the University of Louisville in the States, and I read with interest your open letter to Tobacco Free Kids.

Your position on the health effects of nicotine versus smoking is unimpeachable. There is no public health justification for denying smokers information about and access to safer sources of tobacco and nicotine. But the war against tobacco, conducted by Tobacco Free Kids and their allies, is not about public health. It has become the latest in a long line of misguided American moral crusades.

You will get no response from TFK. That organization has a long history of refusing to discuss substantive issues regarding tobacco harm reduction. The American legislative process is closed to all but a few powerful interests, who will soon be gloating over their “success” in passing FDA regulation of tobacco. I am convinced that these anti-tobacco extremists will eventually be held partially responsible for the deaths of millions of uninformed smokers.

Best regards,
Brad Rodu

If you or someone you know and care about is a tobacco user, there has never been an easier way to move away from the tobacco products. Legally electric cigarettes cannot be marketed as a smoking cessation device, but I have no problem telling you that e-cigs CAN be used to help you quit smoking. Just like a regular stick of gum or a toothpick can be used as a smoking cessation device. I have no problem telling you that electronic cigarettes WILL help you give up tobacco. I don’t care what the FDA says, any organization that claims that aspartame is safe to use as a sweetener in spite of all the evidence to the contrary, but that a safe and natural product like Stevia cannot be labeled as a sweetener is an organization that just CANNOT be trusted.

I implore anybody that is reading this to do their own research on electric cigarettes and see for themselves that they are safe and a wonderful way to help anyone quit smoking tobacco.

There are some really great deals on mini or disposable starter kits that are perfect for a person to try out and see if it is something that they like without spending a lot of money. These make perfect gifts for that special person in your life who is still addicted to using tobacco.

It doesn’t make sense to be still addicted to Nicotine through Electronic Cigarettes, does it?

It actually makes perfect sense. I would rather be addicted to a harmless vapor than to a carcinogenic smoke. Also you can perfectly regulate the amount of nicotine and slowly ween yourself off by lowering the dose incrementally. Much more difficult to do with tobacco.
E-cigs are also a much easier transition than gum or patches.
